OLD BUSINESS -

Park Erosion - Elmer's drew up (for free) a blue print that was presented to the board with their recommendations that would repair the erosionproblem at the Park. Motion by Miller to go out for bids, using the blueprint from Elmer's, to run an ad in the Record Patriot, and the GrandTraverse Insider, for 2 weeks, and to include the corrective problem for thespill way at the top of the park. Fire Department - 12 runs for the year. We had a mobile home that was totally destroyed, believe it was arson, the home had been vacant. We left the scene at 11:00, we were back at 3:30, this time the garage was on fire.Fireman Bill Hutchins, sprained his ankle, and is currently on medical leavewhile on this run. Two days later the mobile home was on fire again.

Property is located at 11966 Ellsworth Rd. The property is a mess, it most likely will end up in probate, the current owner is in the Maples.

The MFR, are not running on any calls, as the license has not been approved, this takes time. A social time will hopefully take place at the next firedepartment meeting on August 7, between the Homestead Twp Board and the FireDepartment members.

Discussion took place regarding back ground checks on the current fire department members, and the MFR. Motion by Rosa to allow Cathy to research this with the Benzie County Sheriff's office. To ask the sheriff's office to do a complete background check on each member of the department, and to notify the board, if there is anyone on the department, that should not be serving, based on his / or hers past or present history. Support Moore . All Ayes. Motion Carried.

Policies and Procedures - Continue to work on these.

PUBLIC IN PUT - Bob Rosa - Regarding the blue print, asphalt paving details, are you going to required that information that is on the blue print in your bids? I suggest you take the compacted percentage off of the blue print. The board agreed that the percentage should be taken off of the blue print.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD - Blinds for the windows through the grant process, call for thermal covering. We will go out for bids for the windows in the hall, and Shelley will research the window covering for the offices.

Skate Park - Once again, vandalism is taking place at the skate park. Tables are being destroyed, the bath house portage johns have been tipped over numerous times. Frank has spoken with some young adults seen at the skate park regarding this. He also has seen a decline in the number of people that are picnicking at the park, as a result of the skate park.

Cathy will contact Fortress Security and get suggestions from them regarding cameras up at the park.
