A regular meeting of the Homestead Township Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m., by Chair, Cathy Demitroff.
Present by Roll Call: Cathy Demitroff, Shelley Rosa, Mary Geetings, Carol Moore, and Matt Miller
Also present: Bob Rosa, Frank Walterhouse, Andy Loveland.
The entire audience participated in the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVE AGENDA: Motion by Rosa to approve the agenda with additions, to include request for name change on Liquor License for Roger Duford, Seeds Audit and Clean Up Day. Support Miller with additions. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
APPROVAL OF THE MARCH 7th MINUTES:
Motion by Moore to accept the March 7th minutes with corrections, to take out "Cathy will distribute her information and any others to the board in Mary's absence." from the March Minutes. Cathy never agreed to do this. Support Rosa. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
REPORTS: - Treasurer's: Motion by Miller to accept the Treasurer's Report as presented. Support Moore. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Clerk's: Motion by Miller to accept the Clerk's Reports as presented. Support Moore. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Zoning Administrator's: Motion by Rosa to accept the Zoning Administrator's, report as presented. Support Moore. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
JPC Report: None
Supervisor's Report: None
APPROVAL OF BILLS: General - Motion by Miller to pay the General Fund Bills. Support Moore. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Fire Mileage - Motion by Miller to pay the Fire Department Bills. Support Moore. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
CORRESPONDENCE: Moving Asphalt
PUBLIC IN PUT: Marlene Wood-Zylstra - Recycling Coordinator distributed to the board her 2010 Annual Report.
NEW BUSINESS: Cemetery Bids- There were not any bids submitted. It was never discussed at the March meeting to run the Ad in the paper.
Park Maintenance Bids - 3 (Three) bids were accepted.
Joe Johnson - Johnson Outdoors $920 per month
Frank Walterhouse $ 0 for the year
Happy Harry's Maint. - Mark Wareham $10,000 for the year.
Motion by Miller, Support Moore to accept Frank Walterhouse's Bid for zero wages for the Homestead Twp Park Maintenance Person. Ayes - Miller, Moore, Demitroff, and Rosa.
Nay - Geetings. Motion Carried.
Concession Bid - No bids were submitted.
Liquor License - Motion by Rosa to accept the resolution for a transfer of license to Roger W. Duford. Support Miller. All Ayes. Motion Carried
OLD BUSINESS: Fire Chief's Gas Explanation - The question was asked as to why the gas bill was so high for the month of November, when there was only one fire run. The explanation from Chief Walterhouse is attached to the minutes.
Fire Department - 5 Runs for the month of March
Audit Information - Trustee Moore spoke about the inaccuracy of the Audit Information, and questions its credibility. She would like to see a new audit, with accurate figures. She does not have a good feeling on how this information is being presented, and hopes that Homestead Twp is not in for a big bill.
Supervisor Demitroff explained to Trustee Moore that incorrect information and data had been applied to the audit. She did not know how it happened, but would check into it, and get accurate data and information back to the board.
Clean Up Day - Trustee Moore, questions why this board does not set a dollar limit on clean up day, when we do for everything else. Motion by Moore that we vote on the open end dollar amount for garbage on clean up day. Support Rosa. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Motion by Miller to hold a vote on the open end dollars amount for clean-up day. Support Rosa. Roll Call. Nay - Moore. Ayes - Demitroff, Rosa, Miller and Geetings.
PUBLIC IN-PUT- Bob Rosa - The Fire Department gave the Coho Festival permission to use the plates in the kitchen?
Has our Zoning address the Collective Medical Marijuana business going on in this township? We now have one operating on Haze Rd. Have they discussed placing a moratorium to restrict these this from happening?
Draft JPC Budget - Motion by Rosa to approve the amended budget for the JPC. Support Miller. All Ayes. Motion Carried
ANY OTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD - Harp is holding an Envisioning meeting at the Platte River School on April 18, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.
