Old Business :
Tribal Grant application . : Smith informed the group that the Township was not on the recipient list for the Tribal Grant winter cycle. She suggested that we re-apply for the spring cycle. Additionally she suggested that we separate the projects and submit individual applications.
Restroom Project: Rokicki offered to have his son draw up some plans for a stand alone restroom building. Rosa suggested that a flatter location may work better than the maintance building area. The group also agreed that we should look into seeing if the Township may have some money to match what has been donated.
Skatepark: Smith noted that she had been in contact with an anonyms donor who wished to donate two Skatepark ramps. We would have to haul them and place them ourselves. She also noted that she had spoken with a gentleman that may want to put on a charity golf tournament to raise some funds for the future Skatepark. Warren and Smith offered to gather more information on these projects.
Laing suggested some money saving ideas for the Skatepark. She said we could probably get concrete cheaper than the original suggested blacktop. She also knew of some possible sources that may donate time.
Playground: Rokicki suggested that we put the playground project on hold while we work on the restrooms.
New Business:
Request to Township Board: Rosa suggested that a fence be placed behind the backstop fence on the main field to stop kids from falling. He also suggested we get some domed lids for some of the trash cans and reduce the number of trash cans. Rokicki made a motion that we present Rosa's suggestions to the board and in addition we ask the board for matching funds for a restroom and a place to put the donated ramps. supported by Rosa.
Miscellaneous: Smith asked if the Township has a 501(c) classification. Warren stated that he had spoken with the Supervisor Demitroff about this and the Township could not be a non-profit. Smith suggested that we may want to partner with a group with a 501(c) to apply for other grants and use other fundraising activities.
Smith also presented a DNR grant application and suggested we look into it for next year. The application deadline was coming soon.
Public Input: None
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10pm.
