Old Business:
Presentation to Township Board: Rokicki reported on his presentation to the Township board. He presented the following Committee recommendations; Get new estimates for lower cost restroom and request matching Township money to go with Olsen grant funds. Metal lids for park trash cans, a fence above the main field dugouts. The board requested some costs estimates before they would commit. Warren asked the Township board for a storage spot for some donated skate park ramps. The Board agreed to store the ramps. Rosa and Laing agreed to look into costs for the projects.
Tribal Grant application. : Rokicki asked Smith and Laing if they would work with himself and Supervisor Demitroff to re-apply for the Tribal Grant. It was decided that the grant would be applied for under the following 3 headings; Restrooms, Skatepark and Playscape. Laing offered to request letters of support from community members for the Grant applications.
Restroom Project: Rokicki presented a proposed drawing for a restroom facility. The committee decided to reduce the size a little and to present the plans to contractors for costs estimates. Laing and Rosa stated that an architects stamp will be needed on the plans. Rosa offered to be the licensed builder for the project. He also volunteered to look into the Health Dept requirements for the drain field. The committee decided to present the cost estimates at the next Township meeting , if bids could be secured on time. If the restroom project could not be started this summer the committee decided to recommend porta-johns for the rest of the summer.
Skatepark Smith and Warren were still working on securing the donated ramps. Smith stated that the Friends of the Homestead Skatepark were working on plans to repeat the mini-carnival fundraiser.
Playground: Still on hold.
