Present: Cathy Demitroff, Mary Geetings, Shelley Rosa, and Matt Miller. Absent: Zelda Gray
Also present: Rosalie and Ben Pelch, Frank Walterhouse, George Hillier, Kevin and Jo Ingleston and members of Cub Pack #67
The entire audience participated in the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion by Demitroff to accept the March 5th minutes with correction: replace A Grand@ with AGrant@ under Homeland Security. Support Miller. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
TREASURER=S REPORT: Motion Miller to accept the Treasurer=s Report as presented. Support Demitroff. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
CLERK=S REPORT: Motion Rosa, to accept the Clerk=s Reports as presented. Support Miller. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
APPROVAL OF BILLS:
General - Motion Miller to pay the General Fund Bills. Support Rosa. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Fire: Motion Demitroff to pay the Fire Fund Bills. Support Miller. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
CORRESPONDENCES: None.
PUBLIC IN-PUT: George Hillier, Valley Rd Honor. Why is Homestead Twp wanting to bring the Zoning back to the Township from the County?
PUBLIC IN-PUT CLOSED:
KEVIN INGLESTON and Cub Pack # 67: The Cub Pack #67 presented the board with a picture, and a plaque of appreciation for the use of the Twp Hall for their pack meetings.
OLD BUSINESS:
Budget Roll-Over Money 06/07 - General Fund - Motion Demitroff to accept the beginning balance for 2007/08 as of April 2, 2007 of $136,591.66. Support Geetings. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Fire Fund - Motion Demitroff to accept the beginning balance for 2007/08 as of April 2, 2007 for the Fire Department of $60,139.15. Support Miller. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Joint Planning: No Report
Fire Department Report: 6 Runs for the month of March. The pancake fund raiser=s were a success.
Fire Department Contract: Three Twp were contacted regarding their policy for repairs / expenditures between the Fire Chief and the Twp Board. Motion by Demitroff to have the Fire Dept pay $3,000.00 for rent, their portion of the Insurance, and 50% of the Heat and Power for this fiscal year 2007/08, all of which the chief is to be notified of. Support Rosa. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Sexton Contract: Expired March 31, 2007. The expired Sexton, Earl Wiggins will be contacted. Does he wish to continue? Will he be willing to continue until a new Sexton is hired? An add will be placed in the paper for a replacement.
Assessor Contract: Each year the Assessor=s wages change based on the number of parcels Homestead Twp has. Motion Demitroff to adjust the Assessor=s wages based on the number of parcels from Equalization which is 1994 for 2007/08. Support Miller. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
FEMA Flood Insurance: FEMA was due to send information regarding flood insurance, and an Ordinance our Twp would have to act upon for our residence living on the river. Will discuss at the next meeting.
Tables and Chairs: Topic will be table until the next meeting so Zelda can be present to express her opinion; until then the Clerk will continue with her past practice of not loaning or renting any tables or chairs.
PUBLIC IN-PUT: Ben Pelch, Weldon Rd, Homestead Twp. Do not rent out these chairs, they are in poor shape and the Twp could get sued. Also, the Old 1953 pump truck should be retired, it is old.
