Present: Cathy Demitroff, Mary Geetings, Shelley Rosa, and Matt Miller. Absent Zelda Gray
Also present: Frank Walterhouse, Sherri Poulisse, Kathy Ralston and Doug and Margo Detzler
The entire audience participated in the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVE AGENDA: Motion by Rosa, support Miller to approve the agenda as presented. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion by Rosa to accept the September 4th minutes as presented. Support Miller. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Motion by Miller, support Geetings to accept the Treasurer's Report as presented. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
CLERK'S REPORT: Motion by Miller, to accept the Clerk's Reports as presented. Support Demitroff. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
APPROVAL OF BILLS:
General Fund - Motion by Rosa to pay all the General Fund Bills. Support Miller. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Fire Millage - Motion by Rosa, support Miller to pay all the Fire Department Bills. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Park and Rec Bills: Motion by Rosa to pay all the Park and Rec Bills. Support Miller. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
CORRESPONDENCES: Introduction letter from Kusterer & Co. P.C. Certified Public Accountants.
Letter from Mark Roper, Chairman - Benzie Co. Board of Commissioners, looking for 2 members to join the committee to re-write our County Zoning Ordinance.
PUBLIC IN-PUT - Sherri Poulisse - Inland Twp Fire Committee, handed out minutes from their last two meetings. She informed the board of their goals, short and long, in there quest for their own Fire Department. They hope to start with a substation, working within either Almira or Homestead Twp and build from there.
Doug and Margo Detzler - Do we have a Junk Ordinance, if so, how is it enforced?

Kathy Ralston / County Summit - Distributed an invitation: AThe Summit on Intergovernmental Cooperation@ to be held November 13, at the Best Western Scenic Hill Resort. She followed with some history and intent of the summit.
OLD BUSINESS:
Snow Plowing Bids: The diagram for snowplowing was not posted at the Twp Hall. Not all bids were turned in on time, nor were they all marked as requested in the paper. Motion by Rosa to treat the opening of all four bids the same.
D-Lane Services $75.00 per plowing
Cole's Snowplowing - $60.00 per plowing and shoveling
AJ's Excavating - $60.00 per plowing or $2,000.00 per season - $10.00 for materials
Interlochen Trucking and Excavating - $70.00 per occurrence.
Motion by Rosa to accept Cole's Snowplowing bid at $60.00 per time for plowing and shoveling for the 2007-08 winter season. Support Miller. Roll Call. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
Cemetery Signs: Signs will be placed shortly.
Joint Planning: In Zelda's absence, Cathy informed the board that the projected date to have the zoning completed is Jan or Feb 2008.
Brian Gram, Attorney from Bellaire has been hired for legal review.
Six members of the board are taking an on line zoning course.
Fire Department: Five runs for September. Frank is researching Inland Twp's request for partnering with Homestead Twp / substation.
Yearly inspection on the fire trucks is near completion.
Franks distributed the cost for replacing 3 pagers. The board ask that he check on the five year warranty, that came with the 20 pagers that were purchased in Dec. of 2002.
Recreation Park: Park is closed.
Satellite Fire Station: Researching
NEW BUSINESS:
ATV Ordinance: A draft ordinance was reviewed by the board. Motion by Rosa to table until the November meeting. Support Miller. All Ayes. Motion Carried.

Any other business to come before the board?: Nov 6, Election.
An Election Refresher course held by the Bureau of Elections for the Clerk's and their Chair person will be held on Oct., 10th at the Homestead Twp Hall.
The dumpster will be pick up tomorrow - 10/2.
Adjourn: Motion by Miller, support Rosa to adjourn. Meeting adjourn at 8:00 p.m. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
